School Development Plan

Our whole school priorities for improvement for 2020/21 are:

  • Successfully support and reintegrate the school community post COVID-19
  • Ensure that all students make progress significantly above the National Average for boys
  • Outcomes, attendance and exclusion figures for PP and SEND (Spotlight) students are improved
  • Clarity of vision and excellent execution and implementation of a broad and clearly delineated curriculum across all subject areas
  • Ensure that quality first teaching is good or better in every classroom and characterised by the SBS Half Dozen, placing Spotlight students at the very heart of lessons, offering inclusive access to all
  • Continue to develop and promote the excellent culture and ethos of the school – Inspiring Excellence, through Care, Courtesy and Commitment - in outstanding behaviour and improved participation and engagement in Leadership and House opportunities
  • The effective implementation and delivery of a systematic Reading Programme in Years 7, 8 & 9

The school’s burgeoning reputation continues to grow, attracting a rising school roll, supporting financial sustainability and growth.Img 083
