Resuming of Home LFD Testing

Dear Parents and Carers

A reminder that we are asking students to resume the twice weekly lateral flow home testing on Wednesdays and Sundays this term.

Two packs of LFD tests have either been collected by the boys who attended the Testing Centre on Friday or will be collected by those attending tomorrow.  Any student who has not been through the Testing Centre will be given two packs of LFD tests in registration during next week.

Years 7, 11 and D6 pupils
Please resume testing today (Sunday 5th September) and continue every Wednesday and Sunday thereafter

Years 8, 9, 10 pupils

  • Those who will not be attending the Testing Centre tomorrow should resume testing today (Sunday 5th September) and continue every Wednesday and Sunday thereafter
  • Those who will be attending the Testing Centre should resume testing on Wednesday (8th September) and continue every Sunday and Wednesday thereafter.

Once your son has completed his test, the results need to be reported to both the NHS and school by using the two links below:

  1. Report to the NHS
  2. Report to St Birinus School

Any positive result should also be reported to the school by emailing covidqueries@st-birinus.oxon.sch.uk.

Further details about the Lateral Flow Tests can be found on our website: https://www.st-birinus-school.org.uk/3683/lateral-flow-home-tests.

Please note that the asymptomatic testing programme does not replace the current testing policy for those with symptoms. Anyone with symptoms (even if they recently had a negative LFD test result), should still self-isolate immediately according to government guidelines and book a PCR test.

If your son has had Covid-19 within the last 90 days, he does not have to take a lateral flow test during this period. However, should he choose to test and receive a positive result, you would still need to treat the test as positive and follow Public Health guidance and self-isolate.

Thank you for your assistance with the testing programme, and we look forward to welcome students back to school this week.

Many thanks
St Birinus School
