The BIG STEM Careers event returns for 2023
Following the success of last year's event, we are delighted to host another careers event aiming to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths)-related careers. Whilst the event will have a STEM focus, there will be a number of other businesses represented (we currently have over 25 confirmed), so there should be something that appeals to all students. We have companies ranging from Playdemic, Oxfordshire County Council, WOW Saddles, UK Atomic Energy Authority, LTi Metaltech Ltd. and Abbott Toxicology alongside some stalls offering advice and support, including Adviza, ASK Apprenticeships and Oxford Brookes University.
The event will be hosted at St Birinus School on Wednesday 1st February. Most speakers will be situated in the main hall. A floor plan and booklet detailing the range of employers at event with more information about the companies will be available on arrival, alongside refreshments. The booklet is yours to keep, with lots of fantastic contact information, details about the companies in attendance and some more practical advice and real-life scenarios kindly provided by our employers and companies.
This is a fantastic networking opportunity, whether you are in Year 10 and curious about what careers available to you, in Year 11 and thinking about potential post-16 choices or Years 12 and 13 and considering your future steps. Employers are really thrilled to be attending this event – they are so looking forward to meeting their potential future employees! Lots of companies will be bringing hands-on and interactive displays for you to get involved with.
We would like to invite Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students from St Birinus School to attend. SBS students will be coming out of lessons for an hour.
