ALL PUPILS

The school uniform for Years 7-11  

• Black blazer with school badge*
• Black trousers, suitable for an office-based environment (no cargo, combats, flares, drainpipe-style, ‘skinny’ trousers, cord, denim. No tight trousers. No exposed zips/studs on trouser)
• If a belt is required it must be black with a plain buckle
• House tie* (to be worn to the waistband of school trousers and to the top collar)
• White shirt
• Optional White Polo shirt* for Terms 5 and 6 only.  Please see details in link at bottom of this page
• Dark socks - Black, Navy Blue, Dark Grey (no patterns, stripes or light colours - no fluffy socks)
• Polishable black school shoes (see guidance in the PDF on the Page Documents, below)  
• Optional Black or Grey ‘V’ neck pullover  (Hoodies and baseball caps are not permitted)
• No body piercings of any kind. No jewellery or wristbands, except for religious items
• No extremes of hair colour or hair style are permitted. Only naturally occurring hair colour will be permitted.   This rule is considerate of different cultures and hair types.
• No obvious make-up or nail varnish

PE UNIFORM – ALL PUPILS

All students are assigned a House when they join St Birinus School; each house has its own colour: Athenian – Blue;  Corinthian – Green; Spartan – Red;  Trojan – Yellow

All students in Year 7 – 11 are expected to wear the school PE Kit. 

PE Kit required

• PE rugby shirt (reversible with school logo) in your son’s House colour*
• Black shorts
• Football socks in your son’s House colour
• Football boots
• Trainers (non-marking soles)

PE Kit recommended items

• PE polo shirt (with school logo) in House colour *
• Shin pads
• Gumshield

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL PE KIT IS CLEARLY NAMED

OTHER EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

As of September 2020, a pack of tissues and personal hand sanitiser are also suggested.

We have very clear expectations on the equipment that students should have in school every day.

+1 is PE kit which should only be carried in school on days when students have a PE lesson

The PTA has a selection of second-hand St Birinus School blazers and PE tops in stock in a variety of sizes.
