Y5/6 School Tours
School Tours give you the opportunity to tour the school with members of our Senior Leadership Team and student guides and see what the school is like on a normal working day. You will visit lessons and be able to ask any questions. Each year, we hold a number of tours in October from 9.15 - 10.15am. Our tour dates for October 2020 will be published soon.

Our Open Evening takes place early in the autumn term. We look forward to welcoming you to our School at our 2020 Open Evening between 5.30pm-8pm - date to follow soon. No advance booking is necessary.
Y6 Primary Visits
Throughout September, we visit the Year 6 boys who attend primary schools within the Didcot Area Partnership. A senior member of staff, and current SBS students, deliver a presentation to the pupils and their parents, giving them information about our school and an idea of what life at St Birinus School is like.
For any families with boys attending primary schools outside the Didcot Area Partnership, we will be holding a presentation evening in September, details will follow.

School places offered by OCC (email offers for online applications) - national allocation day: 2 March 2020
Confirmation to OCC accepting offer of place: 21 March 2020
If you missed the October deadline, please complete a paper application form, available here:
and ensure it reaches the School Admissions Team no later than 21 March 2020.
Parents complete and return choices form to the Local Authority. This can be done online; you will receive confirmation that your request has been received via email.
Everyone who applies online by 31 October 2019 will receive an email on 2 March 2020 advising which school their child has been offered a place at. All on-time applicants will also be sent a letter on 2 March 2020 with all relevant information.
Acceptance letters are sent to parents with a form to be signed and returned to the County Admissions Team or accepted online.

Transition (once you have accepted your place)
Primary Visits: During May/June 2020
The Head of Year 7 responsible for transition will visit primary schools to begin the process of induction and getting to know your child.
Visit Day for Primary Schools outside the partnership: May/June 2020 TBC
If your son attends a primary school outside the Didcot partnership, he will be invited to attend our Visit Days in order to get to know other students who are joining St Birinus School from outside the partnership. Parents will also be invited, so that they can ask any questions they may have.
