Support for Free School Meal pupils during school shutdown due to COVID-19

Page last updated on 2nd April 2020

St Birinus School will continue to provide support to those pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) during the period where the school is shut due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

We have now received guidance from the Government on the national scheme to issue shopping vouchers for those students who are eligible for FSM.  Please complete the form below by Friday 10th April 2020 to let us know if you need these vouchers.

Once we have implemented the scheme, you will receive an eCode directly to your email address which you then will be able to use to order an eGift card that can be used at a range of supermarkets.  Please check these frequently asked questions for further information.

If you cannot use eGift cards and need us to send you a paper copy of the voucher, please do still complete the form (link above), but also email us at and we will arrange this.

We aim to issue vouchers on a two-weekly basis. The first vouchers will cover the period of 23rd March 2020 to 3rd April 2020.  Please note no vouchers will be issued for the period covering the Easter holidays (6th April 2020 - 17th April 2020).  The next set of vouchers will be issued by Wednesday 22nd April for the period 20th April 2020 to 1st May 2020.  We will continue to update this page on the website with timelines past this point.

If you have any other queries with respect to FSM, please do email

Thank you
