Last week, Year 9 students went out on work experience for 3 days during our Takeover Challenge.

They secured some fantastic placements across a wide range of sectors including architecture, animal health, care, education, set design and printing, engineering, scientific research, catering and hospitality, finance and information technology.

We have received wonderful feedback from both employers and students. Employers said the students were "helpful and quick to learn, a keen hard worker", "polite, well mannered and an absolute pleasure to have around". We are incredibly proud of them for their positive approach to their work experience.

Students gained a really useful insight into different roles and work environments. They said that they now have a more positive attitude towards work and careers and that they had the opportunity to use and develop key skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership.  They described their takeover days as "amazing", "fun" "interesting" and "challenging (in a good way)". They clearly had a great time whilst learning lots and improving their employability.
