On Friday 2nd May, we were delighted to welcome author Matt Oldfield back to SBS to talk to Year 7 about the importance of books, his journey to becoming an author, and, of course, sport.

Matt is best known for his 'Ultimate Football Heroes' books, and students had so many questions to ask about the series. The talks were fantastic, with the whole year group clearly engaged and inspired by his words.

Matt also ran a writing workshop with a smaller group, in which students had to write persuasively about which footballer (or Pokémon or book!) they think is the Greatest Of All Time! The library was buzzing at lunchtime as students came to buy books and get them signed by Matt. All in all, a great end to the week!
