Year 10MEP visit Chinatown

Posted on: 19/06/2025

This Tuesday, our Year 10 Mandarin class took the train into London to enrich their current unit on food and festivals and broaden their knowledge of China’s history.

In the morning, we visited the China Galleries in the British Museum, which involved discussing themes of continuity and change as well as innovations over the course of centuries.

We then walked to Chinatown and enjoyed lunch in Dumplings Legend - especially impressive was the staff’s ability to create us a 15 seat circular table with five minutes notice! The food was delicious and it was great to get everyone around the circular table together.

After lunch, the boys enjoyed some free time to wonder around Chinatown, complete their scavenger hunt, and (most importantly!) enjoy a bubble waffle - very Chinese!

Overall, a fantastic and very enjoyable day was had by all. The trip was a great way to put learning into practice as well as to celebrate the boys’ HSK3 exam now being a distant memory. My thanks to all of 10MEP who are always a pleasure to take on trips and to Dr Chen for supporting.
