DGS and SBS Emotional Wellbeing Parent Information Evening

Posted on: 24/10/2019

On Wednesday 16th October we welcomed around 100 parents, carers and pupils from St Birinus and Didcot Girls' School to the first of our Emotional Wellbeing parent information evenings.

Cerian Townsend from CAMHs and our School Nurse, Rachel Hobin, talked to us about our owl, elephant and meerkat!

We learnt about how to identify these different parts of our brains, their functions and workable strategies to help us build resilience and cope with everyday situations that can cause challenges.

We also learnt ways we can keep ourselves and our young people emotionally healthy, and the importance of opening up conversations about our emotional wellbeing.

Please do look through the attached copy of the presentation which also has some informative videos and resources.

Our next event will be on Managing Fears, worries and anxieties. This will hosted by Didcot Girls' School on Tuesday 26th November 7-8.30pm

Places are booking up fast so if you would like to attend please email sberrill@didcotgirls.oxon.sch.uk or contact the Inclusion Department at St Birinus.
