On Wednesday 12th November, the Reading Ambassadors were delighted to attend the Oxfordshire Book Awards ceremony at Magdalen College School, along with hundreds of students from schools across the county.

Students heard from the the Highly Commended and Winning authors in each of the three categories about their writing journey and the inspiration behind their books. Holly Swain lead a draw-along where everyone learned how to draw Colin from her prize-winning book 'Colin's Castle'. Adding to the excitement, DGS and SBS walked away with a box of free books for their school libraries, having won the quiz! 

Students also had the opportunity to buy books and get them signed by the authors in attendance.

All in all, it was a fantastic afternoon and we can't wait to start reading the books shortlisted for the 2026 awards!
